Mindfulness DLO

On November the 16th there was an earthquake at midnight.

It was centred in Kaikoura and it was 7.8 which is massive. 

It affected the whole of New Zealand and destroyed a school just before Hamner Springs.

That school was Waiau  School.

They have been closed off and there pool has been broken into pieces.

We know that we can't wave a wand to make things better but  we can make something to make the children feel better.

That is why we are making mindfulness packs here is my DLO. 

Big River Hut

hi guys this week the  year 6 students are going on a tramp in Big River Hut. We need to get ready and buy food for the over night stay.Here  is some information and facts about big river.

 here is the hut we are staying in.It has no power but it has a bathroom. Big river is a hut of doc which means you have to pay to sleep in the hut.

 Big river is up by Waiuta/Reefton and it is a mining site so you are not allowed to swim in the river.

My little garden

It is week 3 and i am beaming. This term our teacher has decided to make a competition with Hutt Central school with the little garden products that New World has been selling.

Here is my little garden my one was spinach.

I think that doing these little gardens have excited a lot of people in the class

My Driftwood art

W.A.L.T: Create a driftwood sculpture by the end of week nine.

Week 8 we had to make our driftwood art before the end of the term (week 9 ) and i had decided to make a smurf village. Then after we had finished our sculpture we had to take a photo of them.

I found it easy but challenging i think that it turned out better than i expected and the photo i took was probably the best one so far.

Green and Brown frogs maths question.

   WALT: figure out how to get the green and brown frogs over to the opposite side without getting some trapped.

Sweden Olympics 2016

The Rio Olympics 2016 are finished And over these to weeks i was given the task to be a journalist for a country. My country was Sweden and here is a slide showing what i have done

This week we have started the Rio Olympics 2016. Our class has started aswell we got a country mine was sweden and our challenge was to be the journilist for our country.

i think that the challenge i have been given is amazing and it has excited me.

Sami's simple,compound and complex sentences

 Hi guys this week we are writing explanation but we first looked at our sentences.As you can see there are the 3 sentences simple,compound and complex sentences a simple sentence is  like i saw a dog a compound one is adding a conjuction to your simple sentence and a complex sentence is like a compound sentence but seperating the two sentences with a commar

I found it a bit hard to understand these sentences first but i understand them now hopefully you enjoyed this .

Samis inlargement in art

In art we have been doing some inlargements with cartoon characters in our art books. I picked tweety bird and here are a few photos.

as you can see i have tweety bird in a grid marked by each cm.

How we enlarge it is we have our cm across my one was 10cm across and 12cm down i times it by to on a A3 bit of paper and do it by each cm again i have not finished yet but i will send one when i have.

my bird feeder

In writing and art we have been doing robotics.We have been given a chance to construct a bird feeder or a trap i have decided to build a bird feeder to enhance the native bird life and the two birds i picked a fantail and a tui.                                                                       

I have done my research but now i am on to my designing i hope you enjoy my slide as much as i do.

How to throw a gumboot

    WALT teach a throwing sport using a video tool :This week we were given a challenge to make a video of ourselves teaching people how to do a throwing sport in shots.Shots are heaps of shots of different positions in one video and when they are put all together they look really cool so hopefully you enjoy my video and thank you listening to my learning.Luckily my video turned out very well on my first go.
